There's somethings you can't control on your wedding day. Namely the weather! Nevertheless, building up to your wedding day, you (and your family and friends), will be checking the long range weather forecast... Then as they day comes ever closer, the short range weather forecast! In each instance, there is absolutely nothing you can do about the weather. Often weather forecasts aren't localised, and the predicted all day rain, turns into showers, or, even better, none at all. But you will have stressed (often unnecessarily!), that your wedding day is going to be ruined by rain. I totally get it; we all want a sunny day, whereby we can just enjoy the whole wedding outside with family and friends and bask on the lawn in the glorious sunshine. But, if it does rain at key points on the day, there is nothing you can do about it!
Did you know rain on your wedding day is actually a blessing?! I know this doesn't help your mind set but hopefully what I am doing in this blog is make positives out of what seems a negative!
In reality, rather than focussing on the bad weather, we should be actually enjoying those moments. Ultimately, if it rains, you get more time relaxing with family and friends indoors. I get more candid wedding photographs. Honestly it's not all doom and gloom. Personally I come prepared. I'm used to photographing weddings throughout the year, come all seasons, so not only do I bring lights (so if needed we can do family photos indoors), I also bring a wealth of experience, and able to be flexible to change and adapt to things that are out of my control.
On Georgia & Steven's actual wedding day at Owlpen Manor, the forecast was bad, really bad! We went with it, and throughout the day the rain stopped hammering it down for a few minutes, just so Georgia and Steven could go outside and grab a few moments together in Owlpen's stunning grounds. If when it wasn't lashing it down though, Georgia and Steven where ultimately happy, as they had all their friends and family together, in one room... Let the party commence!
I hope this is giving you confidence that no matter the weather, the people around you are the most important. Just relax and enjoy your special day.

These are the Kind words that Georgia & Steven wrote about me: What can we say about Ben? He was truly the bright, fun, high energy person that we needed on our very rainy wedding day to lift our spirits and keep us relaxed and positive! When planning my wedding I just knew he was the one I wanted to photograph my big day after being so impressed by the photos he presented to my sister on her big day 9 years ago! Stunning, and natural. As expected, we are so over the moon with our photographs, I was a bit sceptical before receiving them as our wedding was such a wash out with rain and high winds, but you honestly wouldn’t know seeing the photos! Thank you Ben, from the bottom of our hearts for being so positive and cheerful on the day, for making us feel so at ease and making sure we were okay throughout the day. Georgia and Steve x
