Naomi & Rob were another couple that had to put their wedding back from 2020. They’d originally booked me back in 2019, so over this time and loads of emails/WhatsApp messengers it genuinely felt like I had got to know them. It’s gutting when couples had to make personal sacrifices by postponing their wedding and I genuinely felt the pain and anguish that they were being put through. After all a wedding is supposed to be an important milestone in your life. You postpone it, then in someways it’s like your postponing your life.
Leading up to Naomi and Rob’s day in 2021, rising Covid case numbers and media noise, meant that they sadly had the déjà vu feeling that their wedding was going to be put back once again. All they wanted to do really was simply get married. So undeterred, they decided that they would push back their actual wedding ceremony by a week and invite just close family members. Sadly I was already booked for their new date, however, I did my best and tried to source an alternative photographer.
Fwd one week, and fortunately, Naomi and Rob’s wedding was allowed to go ahead at Tortworth Court Hotel as planned. They were allowed their special day after all, with all their family and friends surrounding them, just as they had envisaged. They had finally reached their special wedding day, the life milestone. What a relief. Today was going to be a good day. A party that they had certainly earned and I was there bursting with full energy, ready to photograph every moment so that they could look back fondly for decades to come. Let’s do this!
